Q) Where does the session take place? I have a studio in Hopkins, MN, but also love shooting on location. This can be within your own home or at a site of your choosing throughout the Twin Cities Metro Area. If you’re not sure on a location, just ask! I do my best to select a backdrop that brings forth the personality and style of my clients.
Q) How do I schedule a session and how far in advanced should I book? Please contact Crystal via e-mail at info@crystalrosephotography.com or by phone at (952)250-7781 to schedule a session. We will discuss potential locations, clothing ideas and the best ways to match your session with your personality and style. Once we have a date and time scheduled, you will receive an electronic contract to be signed and can pay with debit/credit/check the non-refundable $50 deposit. The remaining sitting fee, plus MN Sales Tax, is due at the time of your session. Due to a limited number of commissions per month, please try and book your appointment 4 to 6 weeks in advance.
Q) What happens if we have to re-schedule? Due to weather and other life events, it is acceptable to reschedule a sitting. If I feel the weather will be an issue and/or conflict, I will call no less than 6 hours before your session (applicable for outdoor shoots). If you feel you won’t be able to make your scheduled appointment, please call no later than 24 hours in advance. I will work with you to select a new date that works with your schedule. There are no penalties or fees for a reschedule; however, if you cancel without setting up a new appointment, the $50 deposit will not be refunded.
Q) When can I see my images? You can expect your online proofing gallery to be posted no later than 3 weeks after your session. The gallery will be available for 30 days after the posting date for you to view your images and place print and product orders.
Q) Are all my images edited? How do I get my images retouched? The images presented in your gallery are artistically edited and enhanced proofs. They can be presented in B&W or with vintage processing at the discretion of the photographer. Retouching is complimentary with any image that is purchased as a print, canvas or included in a product. Examples of these would be: removing blemishes, whitening teeth or naturally boosting/brighten eyes. These custom requests are accounted for at the time of the print order.
Q) Can I purchase digital Images & rights to reproduce from my session? Yes. A CD of high-resolution digital images with print release can be purchased after you reach your order minimum, but is not included in your sitting fee. If only a few of the images are needed, individual high-resolution images can be purchased once a minimum print order has been reached.
Q) My proofing gallery is digital. Are proofs or proofing books available? Absolutely! An entire set from your session can be individually purchased. If you are interested in the proofs, I do offer “Impression Boxes,” a custom designed box to hold you entire set of proofs.
Q) Why should we order our prints through Crystal Rose Photography? We are all guilty of it. In this digital age a high amount of images we take are never even printed. As a professional photographer, I believe that it is not only my job to take the images, but to also make your experience stress free of uploading, printing and scanning. With that said, I do offer digital collections, but still strongly encourage my clients to leave with at least one finished product – whether it be a 5 x 7 desk print or a breathtaking 24 x 36 canvas for your living room. Additionally, the quality of our products is exceptional. Photographs are printed on Kodak Endura Professional Papers. All prints greater than 11 x 14 can be mounted on matte board and are UV protected for longevity. I also offer a full line of albums, presentation boxes, accordion mini-books and many other unique products not carried by big-box retailers, all custom designed with your style and personality in mind!
Q) How long does it take to get my prints? Prints will be ready 2-3 weeks after an order is placed. Custom designed products such as albums, canvases and impression boxes may require additional time.
Q) Do I have to order from one of your collections? No. All prints and products are reasonably priced a la carte so you can choose exactly what you want.
Q) Do you custom design announcements? Yes, I can create custom announcements with images from your session for Holidays, Baby Announcements, Graduation and Save the Date Cards. Please contact me for further pricing and to view a gallery of layouts available. These come in a variety of sizes and types such as double sided, flat and folded 5 x 5. They can be printed on an assortment of high-quality papers and are sure to impress your friends and family!
Do you offer any discounts or special events? Yes, several times a year I have mini-session events. The sessions are shorter in length, 15-20 minutes long. This is a great, economical opportunity for individuals, couples and families to capture a milestone, update the family photo, headshot or as an excuse to check out what Crystal Rose Photography has to offer. These are offered in-studio, but also will be scheduled at a selection of Twin-Cities locations. Keep an eye on my blog for dates and announcements!
Q) I’m a senior. Can you submit my yearbook images to my high School? Included in your sitting fee is my time and talent to retouch your image and submit to the school of your choosing. Once your online proofing gallery is posted, I request that you select your ‘yearbook image’ within two weeks. I will then will retouch the image and send an electronic version to the appropriate contact at your high school . Please keep in mind, you are responsible for monitoring the due date for the yearbook. I am not legally liable for late submissions due to the scheduling of your session.
Q) My yearbook image is due 2 weeks after my scheduled session. Are you able to get my photograph submitted in time? I understand that having a professional photograph in your senior yearbook is a once and a lifetime event. Any requests to edit your senior session and submit your yearbook image outside of the standard time frame (3-4 weeks) requires a rush fee and is based on my ability to accommodate this request.
